Personal development!

Welcoming evening at SUFH with the other students
Organized Gap Year!
The year between the end of high school life in a teenagers  life and the joining of university or college is a very crucial year where one can get to understand his/her personal identity or at the same time lose focus in life. This two things involved during this one year period are very important in determining what kind of a person you will be in life or even what kind of life you will live in the future times.
Many of the young people all over the world are facing a condition what we call or would like to understand as identity crisis and therefore it has been every important to mould a young person’s life because at first they don’t even understand themselves.
Therefore during my exchange program to Norway I stayed in a School called Sunmore Folke High skole which is basically a school if you like you would call or people call it an Organized Gap Year. The meaning of the organized gap year phrase is that it is a place where  young people after high school spend the one year before they are admitted to University or college and focus more on the personal building through different activities such as music,Dancing and sports among many others.  This period that they spend in school is organized in a way that they focus on programs such as Music, Multi-sport among other programs that help them understand themselves. The question that is in my mind now is whether such an initiative is what developing countries are lacking when it comes to empowering the young to understand themselves or what is the cause of what many psychologists are calling as identity crisis within the young people?

As i embark back home from my program back at home i have chosen to focus on empowerment of teenagers to understand them first of all before even giving them the opportunities they need to grow.It is important that our teenagers get to know who they are and what they are made of.
